CHEST OF DRAWERS; WOODEN TRAVELLING, JONES FAMILY
Box shaped dark varnished wooden travelling chest of drawers. Two drawers take up the front surface of the chest with each having two recessed brass handles. Each of the side surfaces has a heavy metal handle. Each corner has a metal reinforcement. The chest rests on four round plump feet one of which has been replaced. This leg is square, made of different wood and is larger than the other three. The material from which the chest is made could be possibly Australian cedar and is very worn with scratched surface and cracked at either side of the upper drawer. The back of the chest is made out of pine (four boards) and a small narrow board of different wood. Item number on pine board at the back of the chest.
