1937Black and white photograph showing the frame of a building. Other buildings can be seen amongst trees in the background. Three men stand left of centre facing the camera. The gentleman in the middle wears a tall hat and suspenders and points to one of the pits that has been dug in the ground. The man to his left is wearing long overalls. The third man to his right is standing on top of a long beam and leans over a parallel railing to look in the direction of the pit. A board showing planning diagrams is leaning against an earth mound on the left side of the photograph. The Metters factory was situated in Salvado Road on the site subsequently occupied by Homebase.
REVERSE: Handwritten in black ink: 'Feb 17th 1937'.
