CARRICKMACROSS, MAT
Circular carrickmacross mat made by the nuns of the Good Shepherd Convent in Limerick, Ireland.
Displays all the characteristics of the technique – base of white synthetic machine made net with synthetic organza applique, needlerun stitches in centre of flower, brides/bars of Carrickmacross guipure, buttonhole pops scattered and twirls (little loops) around the edge.
A contemporary design with large flowers, spiked petals in the style of Limerick designs.
