DRAWN THREAD, HANDKERCHIEF
This fine white cotton lady’s handkerchief has an extremely finely hand stitched drawn thread scalloped edge.
It is interesting to note that each scallop consists of 6 little squares with spider webs inside but in 3 scallops there are 8 squares with spider webs, confirming hand stitched.
In one corner is a floral spray worked in shadow work, pin stitching and satin stitch.
One of the 8 squared scallops is three scallops to the left of the corner with the embroidered flower.
