ORIGINAL NUMBER ON THE BACK OF THE RECEIPT. The front of the receipt is cream in colour with an advertisement for Kellogg's Whole Wheat Biscuit in top left hand corner. The receipt has 18 black printed dotted lines with No. 42 at bottom left hand side. The date, name and items are written in pencil. There is a stamp with storekeeper's name and address. Historical information

The receipt was for goods purchased by a Miss Taylor on the 11/12/1942 from H.M. ROSE storekeeper in Kelmscott. The store was possibly opened in c1937. H Rose is listed as a storekeeper in Kelmscott in the 1938/39 Post Office Directory.
Harold Mervyn Rose, born 1895 in Perth. Married Fanny Knight in 1921. Died 1970 age 74. In 1946 their son Mervyn James Rose gets engaged and it is reported that Mr and Mrs Harold M Rose live on Albany Highway in Kelmscott. Harold seems to have run a general grocer store.
