TRYING PLANE BLADE

1926 - 1938
Overview

Blade is rectangular with one end sharpened to a cutting edge, the opposite end is tapered and has text stamped on it. About the centre of the blade is a longitudinal slot through which a screw passes and communicates with the depth plate which also has text stamped on it.

Historical information

Tools used by Charles Duncan in his Blacksmith and Wheelright shop. The shop was called Duncan & McNamee and was located on the corner of Jull Street and Third Road, Armadale. It was open from 1926-1938. Alex Mathieson and Son (Est. 1792) were a Scottish hand tool company, leading in the creation of hand tools.
