Historical information

Teaspoon produced as part of a suit of commemorative souvenirs for the celebration of the Centenary of the City of Armadale in 1994. The City of Armadale was created in 1894 with the establishment of the Kelmscott Road Board. Over time it evolved into the Armadale Kelmscott Road Board (1910), Shire of Armadale Kelmscott (1961), Town of Armadale (1979) and the City of Armadale (1985).

Part of a collection of items produced to celebrate 100 years since the establishment of the Kelmscott Road Board in 1894 than has since grown with the local community and is today the City of Armadale. This collection is part of a larger collection of items that focuses on the history and impact of local government on the community. Local Government plays an important role in providing services to the local community and provides a snap shot into what issues are important to the local community.
