PHOTOGRAPH: HUMES PIPES ON A RAILWAY LINE

Overview

Black and white image of stacks of large Humes pipes on a railway line awaiting transport to Subiaco Railway Station for further distribution. Steel girders can be seen above the pipes, which are grouped in stacks of 18 and secured to the train by a series of large chains.

Historical information

These photographs collected for 'Subiaco Industry' exhibition at the Museum 1998. Photographs collected from Humes, Subiaco, now at Welshpool and owned by CSR. Humes one of many industries which moved, or closed prior to Subi Centro development. See P99.52a,b.
