Lefroy's Sitting Room
In the curtained bay window is a pedestal table with flowers, flanked by two balloon backed chairs. On the patterned carpet is a matching armchair on the right, and on the left is a low table with tea kettle.
John Lefroy (1905-1998) was the son of William Gerald Lefroy and Ada Lefroy nee (nee Hamersley).
Maida Winsome Sharkey (1906-1997) was the daughter of Raymond John and Florence Edith Sharkey nee Ray.
John and Maida married in 1932. They lived at 16 Reserve Street, Claremont.

Note on the rear [Maida's house, Riley Rd] and written in pencil [The blur on the chair is the kitten/ she got up and stretched herself/ and walked across the room./ It was really very amusing/ consequently she is/ only a blur./ This is where I eat!/ It looks rather like Buckingham Palace.]

Raymond John Sharkey an architect, surveyor and amateur photographer was born in 1868 in New South Wales. Raymond was a Claremont resident when he died at an early age.
