K.I.P.S. GYMNASTICS PLAQUE.
1980A black plastic rectangular plaque with a rounded top. It has a gold band around the perimeter and a small triangular stand on the back so it sits upright. The front design consists of a gold wreath surrounding a disc with a gymnast wearing a white leotard doing a handstand on the beam. Below this is a black plaque with text as shown.
Kip's Gym was started by Rod and Julie Sinclair, who were former gymnasts and taught Maths at Kelmscott Senior High School. From there, it was moved to an industrial unit along Champion Drive opposite the shopping centre.
Fiona Clay competed in gymnastics until the age of 14 or 15. She competed at state level then moved on to sports aerobics and came second at a national event in 1985.
