These 2 wooden templates are examples of one of the many variations of lace wheels used to create Teneriffe lace.
Consisting of a wooden base with even number of holes drilled around the perimeter and other holes elsewhere, into which pins or nails are inserted to be used as a foundation across which a web of threads is laid and supported while the decorative embroidery is worked.
(a) Is circular in shape 100 mm diameter (b) is oval shape 90 x 70 mm
Accompanying these wheels are two sets of notes.
i) Course LACEMAKING from ANNA BURDA Knitting and Needlecrafts 3/84 = presumably March 1984
ii) A3 sheet with hand drawn diagrams of different sized and shapes of wheels with the holes indicated with dots.
