Inscriptions and markings

The top bronze inscription is a a circular plaque with an aircraft carrier on it and the words "YOU'RE LOOKIN' GOOD' above the carrier and below is "AMERICA".

The bottom bronze rectangular plaque is etched with "TO THE CITIZENS OF KATANNING FROM USS AMERICA CV-66 27-30 AUGUST 1981"
