Overview

An embroidered friendship book formed from a series fourteen quilt blocks bound by a cover and back panel with heavy duty ring binders. The theme of all the blocks is the importance and significance of women's hand bags to their owners. Each block has a dedication in some form and is individually signed by the contributor.

Historical information

Traditionally made by members of a quilting group, or women's craft group, created and dedicated to a member who is leaving the group after a long or lifetime association.

The cover has the title "My Bag Blocks, Buttoned together By Friendship" The inside cover has the a dedication to the hand bag in verse, "The handbag is a rare delight, its like Aladdin's cave, All sorts of things are hidden there, that females like to save...".

The back cover includes the dedication, Blocks made by my wonderful friends from the "Hanover Bay Quilters" Completed July 2008. Lyne Jackson "Bear With Me"
