Details
On the metal top of the bottle is embossed "IODEX" in the centre, with "LTD." above it and below is "SYDNEY", around the top outer edge is embossed "MENLEY&JAMES COLONIAL". Around the bottom outer edge is "LONDON & NEW YORK".
On the label on the bottle in olive green lettering is "IODEX", underneath is "May be used externally with advantage in the many con-ditions requiring an antiseptic, penetrating and inflammation-reducing agent. Where the skin is unbroken, rub in gently until the colour disappears. Remove any excess of the ointment or cover with a light bandage to avoid staining your linen. When the skin is broken , apply freely under a light bandage. Iodex is a refined unguent derived from an incor-poration of resublimed iodine (4%) in a neutral base. CONTENTS ONE OUNCE", underneath is "Manufacturers MENLEY & JAMES (COL.) LIMITED SYDNEY N.S.W."
On the front of the box is a black outlined square divided into three sections. In the top section on a olive green background and white lettering is "'IODEX', in the middle section in black lettering is "DOES NOT STAIN OR IRRITATE THE SKIN" and in the bottom sections is "Price....2/-".
On the left hand side of the box is a black outlined circle with abstract pattern on the outside of the corners and inside the circle on a olive green background in white lettering is "'IODEX', underneath in nine lines of black lettering is "DIRECTIONS FOR USE-", "Gently rub into the skin until", "the colour disappears. Where", "the parts are too tender to", "admit of gentle friction it", "will suffice to apply", "liberally and cover', "lightly with lint", "bandage."
On the right hand side of the box is a black outlined circle with abstract pattern on the outside of the corners and inside the circle on a olive green background in white lettering is "'IODEX', underneath in eight lines of black lettering is "May be used externally", "with great advantage in all", "cases where the action of bland", "yet therapeutically action", "Iodine is desired. Is readily", "absorbed and does not", "stain, irritate, harden or", "crack the skin."
On the back of the box is a black outlined square divided into two sections. In the top section on a olive green background and white lettering is "'IODEX', in the bottom section seven lines of in black lettering is "Indicated in", "Glandular Enlargements,", "Inflammatory Conditions,", "Various Joint Diseases,", "Rheumatism,", "Parasitic Skin Diseases,", "Chilblains, et., etc.".
On the top of the box is a black outlined circle with abstract pattern on the outside of the circle and there are three sections, in the top section in black lettering is "TRADE MARK", underneath in white lettering is "'IODEX'", in the middle section in five lines of black lettering is "A refined unguent derived", "from an incorporation of ", "resublimed Iodine (4%) in", "a neutral base.", "Free from alkaline iodides." and in three lines of black lettering in the bottom section is "HENLEY&JAMES (COL)LIMITED", "SYDNEY", "131-133 Palmer Street".
