LACE, TAPE, NEEDLE, EDGING

Overview

A delightful example of Branscombe tape lace with picot edges oversewn with buttonhole stitch, buttonhole bars with tiny picots and spider formations.
Scrolling design with stylized flowers whose petals are filled with assorted buttonhole stitch fillings.
One edge is straight the other has assorted curves based on floral design.

This tape lace is the English Branscombe, as distinct from Battenburg in USA, Princess or Duchesse in Belgium and Renaissance in Italy. Each uses made tape outlines, but each has their own characteristics.
