Contextual Information

In November 1912 a deputation of parents from the ten mile hill area met with an Education
Department representative to discuss establishing a school and to inspect the chosen site.
The result was the recommendation that a school be built and it was suggested that the Jimperding School be moved to Ten Mile Hill, although this was unsuitable.
In February 1913 approval was given for a new school and building was completed in July 1913. The school opened on 1 September 1913 with eight Chitty children, three Sinclairs and three Markeys.
In 1925 attendances fell below the required eight students and the school closed. The building was relocated to Corondeen.
