Overview

This charming signature teacloth, hand embroidered by members of the Mt Helena Group of the Embroiderers’ Guild of WA on the occasion of the retirement of their Group Leader and tutor, Joyce Rushton.

The weave of the teacloth is divided into 49 squares each outlined in self-coloured twill pattern.

There is a fringe on the perimeter formed from 6 threads of the fabric.

In the centre a panel embroidered in cross stitch and running stitch are the words: “Presented to Joyce Rushton, Founder of Mt Helena Group 1991-1999. The Embroiderers’ Guild of WA.

The individual names are spaced around the centre.
