POSTCARD: BIRTHDAY, LADY STANDING ON DINGHY WITH GOLD BOOK CHARM

Overview

Vertical cream postcard with raised image of a lady standing on a black dinghy on the left side. She is wearing a full length white dress with long sleeves and highneck and a white hat which has red flowers on top. She is holding a long oar and gazing at the viewer. TO the right there is decorative text which reads: 'With all / Good Wishes / for a very / Bright and / Happy / Birthday' The capital letters are highlighted with green outlines. Printed just beside the lady is 'from' with space to write a name - 'Jim' is handwritten beside it. In the top right corner more smaller text reads: ' From lock to lock, / on the river of life / As you voyage in shadow and sun, / May you find the reaches / sunny and wide / And never a shodow on one.'

There is a golden book charm with 'HAPPY / DAYS' on the cover attached in the bottom right corner.

The reverse has a cursive message written in black ink which reads: 'In love we met no more to part, / We cannot nearer grow. / I gave you my hand and heart , / and tried my love to show. / and you have proved by years of bliss, / Its not just love in name. / But it will show through coming years / To always be the same. / From your loving husband Jim / of your Birthdat 17:10:14'
