The program was donated to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives by Ernie Mews who, in 1954/55 at age 15, was a State League Colts grade player for Perth Baseball Club. Ernie went on to represent Western Australia in State baseball teams as both a player and coach in the 1960s.
This rare and well-provenanced 1954 program is of historical significance as a record of the competition in the inaugural Night Baseball League Series in Western Australia. It records names of players and teams of the day and, along with sponsors' advertisements, is a source of information for researchers of baseball and Perth society in 1954.
