PHOTOGRAPH: MR AND MRS BANFIELD

Overview

The image shows Mrs Banfield seated with Mr Banfield standing at her side. She is wearing a plain dark dress with a lace collar, belted at the waist. The frock has long full sleeves with cuffs. Her hair is tucked into a snood. Mr Banfield is wearing a light coloured suit. The jacket is fastened with one button at the neck and his waistcoat can be seen underneath.
Reverse: Handwritten note: 'Father and Mother when they were married - Mother was 16 years old then.'
Information included with the photograph notes: Mr and Mrs Banfield on their wedding day, c. 1856 when the bride was sixteen years of age. They are the parents of Mr E.B. Banfield late of 16 Chester Street, Subiaco, owner of the Perth Modelling Works, and the grandparents of Miss Jean Banfield who now lives in Smyth Road.
