Troops Leaving Katanning Railway Station
c. 1914A sepia photograph of a crowd of people at a railway station. There is a row of twelve men in army uniform being inspected by a captain. There is a small building behind the crowd which has a sign either side which reads "Gentlemen". The photograph has been taken from the top of the railway carriage looking down on the people.

On the back of the postcard handwritten in blue ink is "Troops leaving Katanning Railway Station. First World War".
On the back of the postcard printed in black lettering is "POST CARD" and underneath this line are two columns with headings "CORRESPONDENCE" and "ADDRESS ONLY" and in the top right hand corner a square with the words "KODAK" at the top and bottom and the words “AUSTRAL” on the sides. This square marks the position to put a stamp.
On the back of the postcard in the bottom left hand corner stamped in purple ink is "F.MARTYN KATANNING".
