GENERAL EMBROIDERY, CARD
2008This hand embroidered greeting card was made in a Woman’s Co-operative in Jabal al-Hoss, one of the poorest areas in Syria in 2008. The co-operative, with outside support, enables the women, many who are illiterate, to become self-sufficient. The brightly coloured embroidery, depicts flowers, animals, mosques and scenes from their daily life. This card depicts a mosque, two houses, two trees and agricultural land.
