c. 1890Washing Machine with Wringer – Manually powered
Wooden box washer standing on four wooden legs. A vertically mounted cast iron gear wheel is fitted with a wooden lever installed in centre of the wooden lid, which is connected to the internal wooden agitator. A wooden framed wringer fitted with cast iron tensioning wingnuts, gears and winding handle, is clamped to the back board of the washer box with two cast iron wing bolts. Missing original lift out washtub and slide out washtub stand.
