Katanning Club
c. 1915A slightly coloured photograph of a single storey bungalow style building with brick walls and white tuck-pointing. There is a white wooden double railing fence at the fence with a hedge behind the fence line. On the right had side are two iron gates, one to allow vehicles and the other people to enter. In the front garden is a white gazebo.
The Katanning Club was officially opened on the 15th October 1915, according to an article from the Great Southern Herald dated Sat 17th October 1915, pg 1. It is located on Amherst Street Katanning.
Katanning Club has played an important part in the social life of Katanning. It was built as a meeting place for gentlemen and it allowed for farming or out of town people to have a place to socialize. Many distinguished people have been members. Ladies were admitted to club membership in 1985 when the club amalgamated with the Ladies Marloo Club.
The building is heritage listed.

On the front of the photograph at the bottom centre is typed 'Katanning Club'.
On the back of the photograph is written in the top left hand corner 'Pre 1912' and bottom right corner 'Katanning Club'
This is the only known photo of the original building. Extensions were made c1950.
It is the only known photograph of the building prior to extensions
