Overview

The black and white photograph shows the official party inspecting Metters' factory. There is a blacksmith's block at the centre front with semi-circular implement and ploughshare(?) lying on top and a stool resting against it. Machinery is visible to the right, left and in the background. The official group are dressed in suits and ties, and the one lady is wearing a large white hat, a black and white long sleeved frock and coat, and a wide brimmed white hat and white shoes. She holds a handbag in her left hand. One gentleman is holding a metal shape in his hands. A workman carrying a piece of equipment is to the right of the group.
