Overview

The black and white photo shows the official party dining at the opening of Metters' new Wembley factory in 1937. The group of men and one woman are seated at a trestle table covered with a cloth and showing flowers, cups and plates, bottles and small cakes. Two women and two men stand in the background. A flag with a cross - St. George - hangs from the open rafters next to a Union Jack. The walls and roof of the factory are of corrugated iron. The table and chairs are the only pieces of furniture on the factory floor.
