Badge - Weekend Mailer Junior Club

Overview

round metal badge - red and gold

Historical information

A rural paper "Weekend Mail" ran under that name for five years, 1955-1960. The paper was previously known as the "Western Mail". Particularly in rural areas, the paper had a popular children's section.
It had a "Junior Page", especially for the children. In particular, they used to write in to "Aunty Mary" with poems, letters and short stories, and paid a small fee to receive membership and a badge.
