CLUB TIE (BROWN)
1974This club tie was purchased and worn by many club members.
It is brown in colour and features a pattern of small crests. The crest includes the initials MGGC. However, this crest is different to the formal green and gold crest used by the club.
Several other versions of club ties have existed in the club's history. Each of the club's male directors are provided with a tie as part of their appointment. The directors wear the club blazer and tie during formal occasions.
Max Hannah, the donor of this tie, recalls purchasing it soon after he joined the club in 1973. Like many others members he chose to wear the blazer and tie in the club's lounge after golf in order to adhere to the dress requirements of that period.
