MEDAL, JACK'S DAY HMS HOOD
1924Metal medallion embossed with an image of HMS Hood in the centre and the words "JACK'S DAY 1924" around the edge.
The impressed design is visible right through to the reverse side of the medal.
There is a small suspension loop at the top.
Undated note by museum curator Jack Hammer: "This medal was found in the ballast of the disused rail track near Lloyds Crossing"

Produced in Australia for Jack's Day, a fund to help the men of the Navy and Mercantile Marine, whilst HMS Hood was here on its world cruise with the Special Service Squadron in 1924.
