There is a square embossed picture frame on the upper portion of the cover, which has a star in the frame above and below the words [Souvenir / Programme]. Lower down the page, is text of [Byford Tennis Club's / Annual / Swing into Spring / Ball / BYFORD HALL / 20th September 1947 / 8 P.M. to 12 MIDNIGHT].
The inside page on the left lists the Orchestra, M.C., supper menu, President and Hon. Secretary.
The inside page of the right lists the dances to be held. The user has written [Flirtat] in black next to [BARN DANCE (Novelty)] and [Ivy Gordin] in red next to [MILITARY TWO STEP].
The back cover has Support Your Local Stores and advertises Byford Trading Co., J. Jamieson, a quality butcher, and Hastie's Store.

Historical information

Dance card owned by Mr Bill Douglas, who attended a dance at the Byford Tennis club on the 20th September 1947. He later gave the card to his good friend Mrs Elsie Richings.
It was held at the Byford Hall. Mr H Alexander was the MC, and C Prior's City Orchestra played the music.
