Studio portrait in cream, oval mount. Emma Briggs is wearing a dark, self-patterned dress with high collar. A chain and bead necklace encircles her neck and then forms a long loop. There is an oval brooch at the base of her neck. Her hair is parted in the centre and softly swept up.

Emma Grace Fletcher married Thomas James Briggs about 1884. Lived at 'Corry Lynn', 2 Brea Road, Claremont.
Children: Albert James (b.1884), Kate Amelia (b.1892), Clarence Henry (b.1890), Ernest Alfred (b.1888), Evelyn Grace (b.1888), Irene Vera Annie (b.1898) and Hilda Mary (1895).
