SILK HANDKERCHIEF
Machine made, with valencienne edging, round hole mesh embroidered applique, with a patched corner.
Embroidered patch with birds and flowers and "To my dear Mother" attached to one corner.
Pale pink with cream lace around the edge.
This handkerchief was sent to Mary Britt of Toodyay by her son William while on service overseas during WW1.
William never returned home – he was wounded at Gallipoli and killed in action in France in June 1918.
