CROWN COPYRIGHT RESERVED” with “POSTCARD / DAILY MAIL WAR PICTURES / The preparation and explosion of immense / mines have been a feature of this war of high / explosives. The great smoke cloud pictured / is from a British mine” on back. Handwritten on back “June 26 1917 / My Dearest Vera / just a card / dear to let you know I am / still in the Land of the Living / and having a Pretty good time / at Present to day We were out / on a bit of a stunt and this / after noon We went out getting / old rifles and shells. I at last / got some letters from hom / Ruth as Been Verry ill But / is quite herself again now / I went down to see Ben the / other night But heard he / had gone north so I miss / again my brotherinlaw Will / Be [sic] By this. There is a lot of our chaps in France / I don’t know when they / Will meet us I hop my / cobber is there he expected / to get away with them / How do you like your new / home now it is Finished / yes [sic] heard gone out teaching / yes I suppose she Will feel / the First few days I Bet she…”.
