In this black and white photograph Mr Barrett stands dressed in bowling whites, holding a bowling ball in his hands. Three additional bowling balls are arranged at his feet.
The photograph is mounted in a brown cardboard mount, on which is printed a list of Mr Barrett's achievements in lawn bowling.
Above the photograph reads 'W. A. B. A. Open Singles Champion 1940 - 41'.
Below the photograph reads: 'Mr. S. R. Barrett. Captain W.A.B.A. Champion Pairs 1919-20., W.A.B.A. Champion of Champions (Runner-up) 1936-37., Captain W.A.B.A. Champion Pairs 1937-38., W.A.B.A. Champion Singles Plate 1938-39., Captain W.A.B.A. Charity Fours 1938-39 '.
Also on the mount is the signature of the photographer, Norton Trevaire.

Statement of significance

This photograph is significant for documenting a successful member of the Kitchener Park Bowling Club, which although no longer extant featured heavily in the social fabric of early Subiaco. Further to this image, the museum holds numerous items relating to the club and its members.
