Overview

Album is rectangular-shaped and contains 24 leaves with mostly family photographs stuck on to pages with handwritten captions providing details of photographs.
Cover page is blank and grey in colour. Reverse has a small sticker in the bottom left corner, 'PLANET, No. 6, Kodak. Australia'. There is also the remains of a newspaper clipping once pasted to the inside cover, since been removed.
Pages of album are grey in colour with four holes made for the original binding along the side. With photographs in both sepia tone and black and white. The album also contains newspaper clippings.
Orientation of the album is landscape, with photographs arranged to fit. Most photographs have handwritten inscriptions made either on the white border of the photograph itself or on the page of the album detailing the image.
12 leaves are double sided with images and clippings stuck to both sides of the page, the other 12 leaves are one sided.

Historical information

This photograph album was received by the White family, prominent and long-standing residents of Subiaco. Thomas 'Shirley' White was a councillor and Mayor of Subiaco.
Thomas 'Shirley' White was born in Victoria in 1867. He took up residence in Subiaco in 1904 and was elected to the Subiaco Municipal Council as councillor to the East Ward in 1905, serving for three years until 1908, at which time he was elected Mayor of Subiaco. He served as Mayor for two years until 1910, and later returned as councillor to the East Ward in 1915, serving for two years until 1917.
The album contains photographs of many members of the White family and Shirley White's residence at 118 Subiaco Road, as well as newspaper features and obituaries.
