Overview

A wooden cross halving base, with an upright dowel counter sunk into a small wooden block and screwed to the base. On the top of the dowel is a hollow metal tube, screwed into place, which holds an extension dowel. On the underside of the base are fabric strips on each leg, and text.

Historical information

The banner was made by CWA Kelmscott branch member Mrs Wilma Craggs in the 1990s. It was a copy of a previous banner that had been made from Hobbytex paints which were cracking and falling apart. The new banner is made of poplin fabric with a variety of embroidery stitches. Mrs. Wilma Craggs made the current banner in the 1990,s, copied from a previous one, painted with Hobbytex paints which became cracked and ugly. The new banner is made of poplin fabric with a variety of embroidery stitches.

HIGH
The banner was made by Mrs Wilma Craggs, a member of the Kelmscott branch of the CWA. The banner was on display at branch meetings which were held at the St Mary's in the Valley Church hall from the 1990s to 2008. It was then used where they met between 2008 and 2019.
