BIRTHDAY CARDS FRAMED
1938A rectangular, black wooden frame, with five postcard size pictures, positioned horizontally, separated by a brown card frame. All pictures feature an angel, with a young girl, from aged one, through to aged five, with text below each picture: [ TO Jean Isobel Mc Whirter / ONE YEAR OLD TODAY 18th.March 1938 ], through to aged five, [ TO Jean Isobel Mc Whirter / FIVE YEARS OLD TODAY 18th. March 1942]. All the text is written in the same hand writing. The backing board is held in place with tacks. One eyelet either side of the frame with a wire for hanging.
Jean Webster was born in the Armadale Hospital in 1937, and christened in the Armadale Congregational Church by Reverend Bryant. The church subsequently sent her a birthday card for each year, on her birthday from 1938 to 1942.

A complete collection of framed birthday cards sent to Jean Webster by the Armadale Congregational Church. Jean was born at Armadale hospital in 1937 and baptised at the Armadale Congregational church the same year. The church them sent her a birthday card for her birthday for the next five years.
The collection represents the relationship and community that is built around a church community who celebrated its young member's birthdays and the value that their family placed in the cards.
