Black and white photograph of large single story brick/iron house. Verandah with decorative timber work. Bay window front right with 'half timbered' Tudor style gable. Turned wooden verandah posts. Newly established garden, small street tree with guard. In double gateway of front fence is a horse and buggy. Young child and adult in buggy (phaeton). Bearded man in hat is grandfather of child. Horse in harness - 'Buzza'. 3 other adults on verandah, 2 men, 1 woman. From left: 1. Jean Yelland (nee Tassie), B.1905, father died when 18 months old. 2. Sarah Marshall, Jean's maternal grandmother - in phaeton. 3. John Marshall, Jean's maternal grandfather, standing at gateway. 4. Jack (or Norwood) Marshall on verandah, Jean's uncle. 5. May Tassie (nee Marshall) - widow - later re-married - mother of Jean. Information provided by Marilyn Sylvester, granddaughter of Norwood Marshall. Red brick, iron roof; tree and lamp-post in foreground. Black lamp-post with electric light - lamp-post probably supplied by Sylvania Lighting - donor of photograph.
