Contextual Information

John Hendrey Wright (1875-1972) was a wood-turner and cabinet-maker in Perth, Western Australia, trading under the name "Wright and Fendick" (his brother-in-law James A. Fendick left the firm in 1908).
During World War 1 there was a need for yarn to make socks for the troops, and his first wheels were made in response to this demand. Then and later, all the Wrights' wheels were numbered: 420 Wright and Fendick wheels were made, between 1916 and 1971.
