STRETCHER, GLOVE - FROM DRESSING CASE
c. 1913Two blunt pointed metal prongs with cylindrical bulbous handles at the end. Prongs rest against each other and are joined on a hinge above the handles. the prongs bend out slightly just under the hinge and above the handles. Under the hinge is a metal spring that keeps the gloves closed. Handles squeezed together to open the prongs. Makers mark stamped on handle featuring text and a stamp of a lion.
The dressing set was given to Mrs L. Furness in 1913 as a farewell gift when she left England for Australia.
