Historical information

Was a wedding present to Lillian Dumsday and Alfred Skeet who were married in 1912. The two families were early settlers in the Forrestdale area and both families played a key role in developing the community in the early to mid 1900s. The cheese dish was used in the Forrestdale family home and was later passed onto their daughter Ursula.

Statement of significance

This item was originally owned and used by the Dumsday Family who lived in Forestdale Western Australia, this family is significant to the area as they played a key role in establishing the community in the early 1900s. This item was then passed down the family to Mrs Lillian Skeet (nee Dumsday) and her Husband Alfred George Skeet as a wedding present in 1912 before being passed onto their daughter Miss Lillian Ursula Skeet.
