Chamberstick
c. 1900A wide shallow enamel tray with a loop handle attached to the rim. On parts of the rim is a blue enamel edging. In the centre is tall and small circular tray with a hole in the centre which has the remnants of a candle.
The wide central tray provided support for a candle, minimizing the risk of it being knocked over. The loop handle on the bottom tray meant the chamberstick could be moved around. It was commonly used in the bedroom at night. The wide tray was also useful to hold matches.
