Chamberstick
c. 1900A white enamel with blue trim chamberstick. It has a narrow lipped drip tray, in the centre of a wider tray with a handle to one side. The chamberstick has a white candle.
The wide central tray provided support for a candle, minimizing the risk of it being knocked over. The loop handle on the bottom tray meant the chamberstick could be moved around. It was commonly used in the bedroom at night. The wide tray was also useful to hold matches.
