GENERAL EMBROIDERY, MATS
An unusual set of 6 linen serviette rings which have been well used in the family home. Each made of 2 pieces of white linen fabric, back has six sides, and in front across centre is a rectangle. Triangle buttonhole stitch around the perimeter, each in a different colour. On front, a different design appliqued or embroidered.
a. Buttonhole edge in pink. Pair of fans, one pink one green, appliqued on front.
b. Buttonhole edge in red. Spray of 2 appliqued flowers one yellow, one pink with 3 buds in satin stitch. Stems in brown stem stitch, centres straight stitch and French knot.
c. Buttonhole edge in yellow. Spray of 2 appliqued flowers both yellow, with 7 leaves in satin stitch. Stems in brown stem stitch, centres straight stitch and French knot
d. Buttonhole edge in green. Circle with 4 green appliqued flowers, 2 dark 2 light connected with green stem stitch. Centres straight stitch and French knot. Very poor condition.
e. Buttonhole edge in black. Design two birds on a branch with 5 leaves. Black embroidery, except one bird in grey - stem and satin stitch. A couple of small holes in back.
f. Buttonhole edge in royal blue. Design a Chinese pagoda in cross stitch, blue, brown and lemon stranded cotton.
