1952 Australian Baseball Championship Series programme
A programme for the 1952 Australian Baseball Championship Series held in Perth, Western Australia. The 24-page A5-size programme has a yellow front cover with black lettering and a stylised black swan dressed in the Western Australian baseball uniform, carrying a baseball bat and tipping his cap. The back cover has an advertisement for Sydney Atkinson Motors Limited. The inside pages are black and white.
The 1952 Claxton Shield was the 13th annual Claxton Shield, an Australian national tournament, and was held in Perth, Western Australia at the WACA Oval. The participants were South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. The series was won for the first time by Western Australia.

This program has been donated to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives by the family of Ray Allen. Allen played for Wests Baseball Club in the 1950s and was a stalwart of Little League in the Tuart Hill area for many years.
This is a programme with historical and social significance, as it records details of the first Australian Baseball Championship won by Western Australia. It is one of a limited number of programmes that have survived in good condition. Its significance is enhanced with hand-written scores and autographs of some New South Wales players.
