PHOTOGRAPH: OPENING CEREMONY OF UGLY MEN'S ASSOCIATION
1918The photograph was taken at the opening ceremony of the Subiaco Branch of the Ugly Men's Association at Hay Street, Jolimont by Lady Ellison Macartney. The association was formed to help the needy in the district. The photograph features a large group of women assembled on the porch of the association's headquarters. Most of the ladies are wearing large brimmed hats and light clothing. The head of a man can be spied looking out from the window at the left of the image. Mrs A. Lay - 7th from left at back (standing).
