Overview

The photograph shows eight children standing in a row. All are dressed in costume representing Western Australian industry. These are: Roller flour; coal; Mills and Wares; wool; Pearce Bros, Tanners; canned goods; Calyx pottery and timber. An emblem of a black swan in a map of Western Australia appears on each child's hat, and the girl in the centre representing wool, holds up a map that reads 'Encourage Local Production.'
