Overview

Rectangle white fabric flag.In the middle is black text over a stylised black, red and yellow swan which is facing left (towards the flag pole). Text [WESTERN / AUSTRALIA / 150]. The swan is made up of a black curve that forms head, neck and underside. Swan body is a red curve over a yellow curve over a smaller curved negative space. Swan beak is red.
Left side of flag has a canvas edging that is stitched around a piece of rope that runs down left side and extends out at either end. Ends of rope have loops held in place by metal crimped sleeves.

Historical information

The flag was acqired by the Shire of Armadale-Kelsmcott in 1979 to be flown outside the Shire Administration building on Jull street during the 150th anniversarry of the establishment of the Swan Colony which evelved into the state of Western Australia.
