a) badge, circular, gold laurel wreath, blue scroll at base with gold lettering - WORLD TWELVES.
Blue inverted triangle on white background with 10 white triangles superimposed. Upper margin, gold crown above red circle with gold wording - 'Royal Perth Yacht Club'. Gold anchor and chain within red circle. PERTH 1986 in gold beside blue triangle.
b) Case - Burgundy suede, rectangular; lining - lid, ivory taffeta, base - ivory suede.

Historical information

The World Twelves (twelve meter yacht race) was hosted by the Royal Perth Yacht Club in 1986, the year before the R.P.Y.C. unsuccessfully defended the America's Cup off Fremantle. Many contenders for the challenge came to Perth for the World Twelves in 1986.
