CHEESE GRATER
c. 1936a) Cheese grater, metal, square top section for block of cheese, opening on to cylindrical base with lip which drops grated cheese into receptacle. A separate inner cylinder which has grating teeth is turned using an attached metal and wooden handle. The grater is fixed to a cream painted stand which is attached to the edge of a bench or table by means of a metal bolt. B) Wooden pushing block, square, used to push block of cheese on to grating surface. Small areas of black paint remain on upper, outer surface of block.
The donor, Miss Jocelyn Lovegrove remembers her mother, Marjorie Lovegrove as a champion cheese straw maker who won prizes for her cheese straws in country shows.
